As we begin to change course from the busy whirlwind of summer towards the quieter more introspective last quarter of the year, it’s important to take a moment to travel inward. Reminding us that we must care for ourselves in order to be able to care for others, and for making fresh starts in our lives.
Using blankets, bolsters, and blocks to assist in longer held postures, restorative yoga is a practice of slowing down and opening the body through passive stretching and quiet yet mindful breathing. As you rest, you will be submerged in the healing sound and vibration of sacred crystal singing bowls. The sound and vibrations are used to adjust the breath, heart rate and brain waves to naturally shift your consciousness to a more relaxed and meditative state of mind.
Combining these two practices stimulates the nervous system, decreases stress, and allows for deep relaxation to take over.
