PAMELA GOFF

"Work Hard. Be Kind. Be Generous."

How long I've been practicing yoga:

Since 1996. I began teaching various forms of group fitness in 1987 and teaching yoga since 2000.

My background:

My first training was with YogaFit. I loved it so much I began searching out inspiring teachers from around the world. I've taken several 200hr, 300hr and 100hr teacher trainings. I love learning teaching techniques that really help my students "click" with understanding their bodies and themselves. Some of my favorites were teacher intensives from yoga teacher conferences. Among my teachers were Jonny Kest, Anna Forrest, Michael Johnson, Niki Doane, Eddie Modestini, John Friend, Duncan Wong, Rodney Yee, Darren Freisen, Kino MacGregor...

Why I teach:

I enjoy watching students grow. I see their excitement and passion grow as their practice expands. Teaching is all about connecting to the students so they can better connect to themselves. In yoga we use the body to connect to our thinking. That awareness can really set people free.

What inspires me:

I have always loved teaching group fitness. I love how many students I've seen fall in love with themselves just through practicing yoga.

Most memorable yoga moment:

There are so many memorable moments, it's hard to choose. They are all about watching a student surprise themselves and accomplishing yoga poses they never dreamed of being able to do. For myself, I remember that same joy. Yoga is constantly rewarding and yet constantly challenging.

Favorite style of yoga to teach:

I love teaching various styles of vinyasa with hints of Iyengar and Anusara alignment.
